Reading Marathon Fundraiser

We will spend Monday, October 3 reading, and we are asking you and your family/friends to sponsor your child. Our Reading Marathon Fundraiser is that simple, families gather sponsors, send in the money, and we celebrate reading. If you would rather watch a fun video about the fundraiser, click HERE. Otherwise, please read the info below.

Here are the easy steps:

  1. Gather sponsors, and put the checks in the envelope.
  2. Write sponsor names on the form and on the “bib” the students will wear on Monday, October 3. (Do NOT peel the backing off the “bib”–we will stick it on students on the day of the Reading Marathon.)
  3. Send in the envelope with the donations on the designated days: Sept. 21, 28 and Oct. 3. Cash or checks (made out to Quincy PTO) accepted.
  4. Send the “bib” to school with your child on Monday, October 3 (or as soon as you are done collecting donations).

We will share our Reading Marathon fun with you, in fact, we will be inviting parents to read with us for a portion of the day. Our goal is for every student to raise $20 or more, which would earn Quincy PTO more than $10,000!

There are prizes too!

  • The student who earns the most money will win a Kindle.
  • The class that earns the most will win a pizza party.
  • Students who bring in $25 or more will earn a “Free Homework” pass.
  • Students who bring in $100 or more will have their name entered into a drawing for a family pass to the Holland. Aquatic Center.

Parents are invited!

  • 9:00-9:30  Third Grade
  • 9:35-10:05  Fourth Grade
  • 10:35-11:05  Fifth Grade
  • 12:45-1:30  Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades
  • 1:10-1:55  Young Fives

Thank you for your support!

Hometown Hero Comes to Aid of Student in Distress!

Written by guest blogger, Jesse Carrell

Ben Braymer finds student’s retainer in trash!
Sarra, a Quincy 5th Grader, realized she threw her retainer in the trash bin moments after it occurred.  After seeing the horror on her face, Mr. Braymer began sifting through soggy, half-eaten pizzas to find the precious jewel.  It was located within minutes!  Sarra was overjoyed, and, after hugging Mr. Braymer, thoroughly rinsed and brushed her retainer.
THANKS MR. BRAYMER!!!

Note… Mr. Carrell assisted Mr. Braymer by holding the trash container steady.
